Kensuke’s Kingdom – Create Reading Task!

Last week we had to create a TV interview in groups about interviewing a character from Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo. I did it with Tharika who was the host and I was the special guest star – Mum from Kensuke’s Kingdom. What I found easy about this task was getting the filming done and what was harder was getting it onto the slide. What I would like to work on for next time is tryin to get it on the slide quicker and easier. Here is mine and Tharika’s work!

My Map! Rugby World Cup 2023 Teams!

For this Google My Map we had to put all of the 2023 RWC teams on and put with it the number of RWC appearences, the captain of the team, the best finish to date for them, two facts about that country, a picture of the flag and their RWC jersey! What I found hard was trying to put on all the correct facts and not accidentally put on false ones. What was easier was one you got the hang of it and finding more about the countries and was really fun and a bit easy. But I absolutley loved doing this task it was very cool seeing pictures and learning about other countries cultures and lifestyles. What I would like to extend on for next time is doing it a bit quicker and adding in a few more facts. Here is my work!

My Kensuke’s Kingdom Map!

We had to make a Google My Map of where Michael went on his journey in Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo. What I found hard was trying to find what country everything was in and interesting facts for the places. What I found easier was finding the places and sharing my map because it was nice and easy and accesable to share and easy to search up the places. Here is my work. I loved making this map because it gave me a chance to learn more about other countries.  A next step learning fo rme would be to add more interesting facts into each place.

Grey Main School : Book Day!

Today we had our school book day! I dressed up as Pippi Longstocking. Pippi Longstocking is a fictional character who has no parents but a horse and a monkey called Mr.Nelson she is very kind and wears…. a navy blue dress with red patches from a different peice of clothing sowed on to it. She has bright ginger hair and has odd pairs of stockings on and if she is not seen with her stockings on she is probably in bear feet. She wears worn out shoes and walks backwards. Her hair is always in two plaits, which are standing up on end. Today there were some Harry Potter’s, Hermione Granger’s, 2 Pippi Longstocking’s and lots of other amazing characters and costumes! Here is a picture of the book and a picture of me at school all dressed up!

Me!                                          The Book!

St John First Aid!

Yesterday we went and did first aid with somebody who works in the ambulence for St John. We learnt about heaps of safty rules, techniques and what to do in an emergency. Afterwards we had to make a google drawing with 3 facts that we learnt at St John, 3 pictures or videos about what we learnt and 3 or more sentences about what we learnt at St John. Here is the one I created.

Summarising a movie trailer!

We have been summarising a movie trailer in class. It is about 12 boys and there coach that got stuck in a cave in Thailand and the cave was filling up with water because of an early monsoon. I found it pretty easy this time because we had done summarising a bit in the last few days but I found adding detail a bit trickier with the movie trailer. Here is the trailer, my bullet points for it and my summary.

My Taonga

Over the last few weeks we have been making taonga’s. A taonga can be made out of anything and it is something that is important to you or your whanau. There are lots of different shapes and meanings for diffrent types of taonga. We made them out of clay and then painted them with different shades of green. I did the shape Pikiroa (twist) and it was a lot harder then it looked! Here it is!
